Horizon 2020 project ENSPACE is literally launching its new GNSS receiver for low cost, secure and flexible space navigation, positioning and time. The Galileo enabled receiver will be integrated into the cubesat mission BOBCAT-1, to be launched to the International Space Station in a Cygnus cargo on top of platform. The GOMX-3 is a CubeSat which carries an experimental ADS-B repeater. Since it is a satellite the experimental receiver hopes to be able to receive ADS-B from orbit, then beam it back down to earth at a frequency of about 437 MHz using a GFSK at 19200 baud high data rate transmission protocol. From space the GOM3-X satellite can see many aircraft at one time and space based tracking allows for 2019-07-26 · They were launched on February 3, 2018 and are still flying in Low-Earth Orbit (LEO). The satellites carry Software-Defined Radio (SDR) payloads that can be programmed in space.
The communications payload will be based on a space-ready Software Defined Radio (SDR) from GOMSPACE (already available in the SatComLab). The SDR communications payload enables the development of flexible experimentation architectures such as bent-pipe, node-relaying or coherent distributed communications (twin payload).
The overall satellite layout is shown in Figure 2.
The main SDR board performs all the modulation, demodulation and protocol functions and is connected to three active patch antennas. Each antenna provides filtering, LNA and PA functions. The GomSpace ADS-B receiver, a GomSpace SDR (Software Defined Radio) module, and the Syrlinks EWC27 CubeSat X-band transmitter complete the internal payload stack. The overall satellite layout is shown in Figure 2. The SDR system is built by combining three standalone components: GomSpace NanoCom TR- 600 (transceiver), NanoMind Z-7000 (processor/FPGA-unit) and the NanoDock SDR [5].
